Hawai’i is a dream destination for many travelers. The island paradise boasts beautiful weather, breathtaking scenery and tons of activities. But a trip here can turn into a disaster if you go at the wrong time. So, which months are best?

April

April marks the beginning of the best weather in Hawai’i and the end of the tourist season. The temperatures are on the rise and the rainy season is over. If you wait until May to visit you’ll find large crowds no matter where you go. In April, you get all the beauty but none of the bother. It’s also one of the best times for whale watching.

October

October in Hawai’i is stunning. It’s just before the beginning of the tourist season, so crowds are low, but the weather isn’t so cold you can’t enjoy a warm day on the beach. You’re also less likely to land during a hurricane at this time.

January

If you’re a fan of surfing you’ll want to hit Hawai’i smack dab in the middle of the winter. The rain leads to large swells and though it’s winter, it’s not like the temperature gets truly cold around the islands. The only downside is you’re going to pay a bit more since it’s in the heart of tourist season, but if you’re the type to get energized by large crowds it’s perfect.

July

July is peak summer in the States, which means a lot of people are traveling on vacation. Hawai’i gets crowded during this time, but rates also tend to drop since the weather isn’t always the nicest. The heat is high and air dry, but it’s the perfect time to visit if you love hiking volcanoes or snorkeling in warmer waters.
