Tips / Destination

Breckenridge, Colorado,  is known for luxurious accommodations, incredible skiing and all-around glitz that typically come with a ski town in Colorado. Unfortunately, that also means high prices. There are still plenty of places to eat that won’t break your budget.

Daylight Doughnuts
Daylight Doughnuts is a perennial favorite in Breckenridge. The famous pastry joint also serves other delicious breakfast options at affordable prices. Snag a Tom MacMuffin for less than $6 or opt for the incredible buttermilk biscuits and gravy for just $4. It’s more than enough fuel to get you going.

Cuppa Joe
Two words: breakfast burritos. The early morning behemoths at Cuppa Joe are too big to fit in one hand but only cost about $10 a piece. If that’s too much food in the morning you can always opt for the baby size.

Empire Burger
Empire Burger is your typical American burger joint with all the usual fixings. Crunchy fries, good beer and perfectly cooked burgers bring the joy to this place. What sets it apart is its unique sauces like the sweet mango chutney and Parmesan peppercorn. Smother your burger in these and you’ll understand why it’s a local favorite. It’s also affordable at roughly $10 a meal.

Crepes a la Cart
You shouldn’t visit Breckenridge without stopping by Crepes a la Cart. Lines are typically out the door, but it’s worth the wait to sample the namesake treats. They offer both sweet and savory options, both of which are delicious as you dine by the fire pit outdoors. A quick dessert here won’t cost more than $15.
