Tech-Free Ways to Pass Time Onboard a Flight

by Katie Skrzek

Feb 19, 2020

Sponsored by Alitalia © It’s about the journey, and on Alitalia’s Premium Economy cabin, there’s ample amenities to ensure peace of mind. That ease of travel begins before the flight takes off, with an additional baggage allowance of two complimentary bags, and priority check-in and boarding.

Tips / Travel

Take a break from technology while you’re in the sky with these tech-free ways to pass time onboard a flight.

Read

Bring a good old-fashioned book, newspaper or magazine to read. Take a break from your e-book device and enjoy the satisfaction of flipping pages and seeing how much you’ve read.

Games

Bring a book of puzzles, like crosswords or Sudoku, to pass time. If you’re traveling with a loved one, bring cards or a favorite game in travel size to play while you’re seated.

Mini Spa Session

Pack a face mask or eye patches to give yourself a mini DIY spa session in the air. Do a few in-seat stretches to relieve any tension.

Journal

Whether or not it’s a common practice for you, spend some time writing your thoughts in a journal.

Talk

Catch up with your travel companion and discuss your travel itinerary for when you arrive. If you don’t know your seatmate and you’re in a chatty mood, politely start a conversation. If they don’t seem interested, return to your other forms of entertainment.

Sleep

Use the flight to catch up on some shut eye. Bring a neck pillow, eye mask and ear plugs to get more comfortable and prevent disruptions.
