Luxury travel network Virtuoso recently revealed its list of the most popular luxury destinations for summer travel. Virtuoso examined data from $49.5 billion in bookings to determine what destinations luxury travelers are visiting this summer. European countries are most popular, though other destinations are represented as well. Virtuoso found U.S. travelers want to stay closer to home this summer, pushing the United States to the top of the list.
Most popular destinations, based on bookings:

- Italy
- United Kingdom
- France
- Greece
- South Africa
- Spain
- Germany
- Ireland
- Netherlands
In addition, several countries experienced a large year-over-year percentage increase in summer bookings. These countries saw the largest increase:
- Chile (+410%)
- India (+173%)
- Puerto Rico (+149%)
- Philippines (+129%)
- Belgium (+111%)
- Kenya (+89%)
- Egypt (+76%)
- Singapore (+73%)
- Costa Rica (+67%)
- Dominican Republic (+58%)
