Top 5 / Europe

This area is a popular holiday destination among Brits but large swathes are also quiet due to isolation from the rest of the country. Here are some of the top things to do in the area.

Eden Project

Home to the world’s largest greenhouses, this educational attraction in Cornwall provides an opportunity for visitors to experience a wealth of different plants that thrive in distinct ecosystems.

Exmoor National Park

Outdoor types will adore Exmoor National Park, with its unique landscapes and stunning scenery. Hike or cycle around for a few days to get a taste of nature.

An amazing manor house close to Bodmin, Lanhydrock is a top attraction for those interested in historic buildings. Particularly striking is the division between the lavish family living quarters and the spartan facilities provided to their staff.

Tate St Ives

With a collection to rival the best galleries in the country, the St Ives outpost of the famed Tate gallery is a must-see for visitors. It recently had a refit too, providing even better facilities.

Lost Gardens of Heligan

These gardens were abandoned after World War I, but have been restored to their former glory by the team behind the Eden Project. They are now an incredible attraction with highlights including a 25-meter high rhododendron and a jungle valley with tropical plants.

Kenwood Inn & Spa

My husband and I arrived to Kenwood Inn & Spa about an hour before check-in time and luckily our room was ready. The front desk attendant asked if we need assistance with our luggage, then escorted us to our room. Along the way, she pointed out the rooms past the lobby where the daily complimentary breakfast is served, as well as complimentary wine tastings. I enjoyed a glass of welcome Champagne as we made our way to the room.
