While the weather in Britain might not be the best for sunbathing, there are some spectacular beaches worth visiting year-round. Here is a fine selection for you to choose from for your next trip.
This two-mile stretch of sand gives way to incredible cliffs and caves that make for a spectacular setting. It’s also a favorite with surfers thanks to a good swell, and you can also go kiteboarding.
Down in Dorset, this beach boasts four miles of white sand. Choose from the quieter beach at Shell Bay, favored by nudists, and Knoll Beach, more popular with families.
Catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight to visit this unspoiled beach backed by crumbling cliffs. Keep an eye out for fossils and ancient dinosaur tracks.
Botany Bay
Near the trendy beach town of Broadstairs, this beach is incredibly pretty. It’s also home to the best surfing in Kent, at Joss Bay, if you feel like catching some waves.
Further north in the county of Yorkshire is this sweeping beach near Whitby. Its quiet, grassy cliffs are great for a relaxing stroll and there are also fossils to be found here.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
