This typical restaurant-bar is one of south London’s best Portuguese haunts. Remember the portions are huge, so don’t order too much; as delicious as it is, you’re unlikely to be able to finish a main dish to yourself.
This upscale eatery is found in the Flat Iron Square development in central London, serving up small plates at reasonable prices. Don’t forget to try one of the port wines that hail from the valley that gives the restaurant its name.
This mini-chain of restaurants and cafés has locations across the city, all of which provide Portuguese comfort food such as pastel de nata. It is also famous for its great wine lists.
Chef Nuno Mendes was born in Lisbon and trained in San Francisco before setting up this trendy restaurant in Spitalfields Market. Try the beef prego and pork bifana sandwiches, or treat yourself to some 100-day-aged barrosa ox.
A Toca
This local haunt is a great place to meet Portuguese Londoners. The food is simple and tasty, plus you might find the beer starts flowing if you hang around long enough.
