Traveling around Cornwall, you can’t help but notice what a beautiful part of England it is. Here are some of the best natural spots to visit.
Carnglaze Caverns are just a few miles from Bodmin Moor, and allow visitors to see what Cornish slate mining was like. You can get underground in the old mines and even visit an underground lake.
St Nectans Glen is home to a 60-foot waterfall that crashes down into the River Trevillet. It sits in a hidden valley near Tintagel, and is relatively undiscovered, so you should have time to appreciate the natural beauty of the place without interruption.
Lizard Point is the most southerly place in the mainland United Kingdom, a weather-beaten slice of land that juts into the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a spectacular setting for hiking, and there are lovely cafés dotted along the coastal routes, too.
St Michael’s Mount is a bit like a British version of Mont St Michel in France, a mound out in the sea that can only be reached when the tide is out. This mound houses a castle with a fascinating history, and sits just off the coast of Penzance.
Bodmin Moor is a place full of mystery, usually shrouded in wet and windy weather. However, if you are well-prepared or it’s a sunny day, there are great hiking and cycling trails to be explored.
