If you ever find yourself craving a last-minute night under the stars but aren’t sure where to go, Hipcamp has a spot for you. The site helps campers find nearby camping spots on public and private land and offers a variety of lodging options, from yurts to glamping to treehouses.
With a mission to “get more people outside and to inspire the next generation of people who are passionate about exploring and protecting our lands,” the founders of Hipcamp want to take the time and stress out of finding a campsite that fits all your requirements.
Camping spots can vary in size, from two acres to thousands of acres, and amenities, from bare-bones, bring-your-own supplies tent camping to fully equipped glamping setups. Booking a site for tent camping can cost anywhere from $10 to $40 per night, while camping in actual structures like cabins can range from $40 upwards.
Searching for a site can be pared down to location preferences, such as a beach, lake or RV park. Other filters include parking access, boat access, equestrian access, campfires, pets, toilets available for use and nearby activities like hiking or fishing.
There are more than 300,000 sites hosted on Hipcamp at the moment, with more added regularly. It is possible, and easy, to find campsites in national parks, cities and states.
Those who have land to spare and are interested in becoming a host can get in touch with Hipcamp to create a profile, add their listing for free and start earning some extra income.
