Rulantica Water Park Opens, Giving Fun-Loving Travelers More Entertainment Options in Germany

Just down the street from Germany’s largest theme park, Europa-Park, is a new behemoth to behold: a nearly 350,000-square-foot indoor water park called Rulantica. Visitors of all ages can escape the cold of Germany winters in this indoor park where the year-round air and water temperatures are 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Nordic-themed water park opened in late November 2019 and is located in the town of Rust, close to the German border with France. The park includes 25 attractions, including 17 water slides. Ride themes pay homage to Scandinavian legends like trolls, mermaids and water sprites.

Those who aren’t keen to get wet but are looking for a warm place to relax can claim a deck chair, lounger or even a private booth with a sofa. The sofa costs more. There are additional loungers outside, surrounding a heated swimming pool. Back inside, a swim-up bar lets visitors order drinks without having to leave the pool.

Entry start at $41.86 for ages 12 and up; day tickets for children aged 4 to 11 and visitors with disabilities cost $38.60; and children under age 4 can enter for free
