Turkish Airlines Sets Guinness World Record

Guinness World Records recently recognized Turkish Airlines as the official record holder for “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline.” While this is hardly news for the carrier, which has claimed the title since 2012, the formal recognition cements the airline’s standing.

So just how many countries does Turkish Airlines visit? Looking at only the active routes the airline has flown in the last year, Turkish Airlines’ flight network serves 131 countries.

Guinness World Records honored the airline with the distinction at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Chile, where Turkish Airlines recently launched new service.

“As the only airline to hold this distinction for over a decade, we proudly showcase the strength of our flight network and reinforce our mission to connect people, cultures and destinations around the globe,” said Bilal Ekşi, CEO, Turkish Airlines.

Tala Omar, vice president, MENA and Türkiye, Guinness World Records, likewise said, “This remarkable achievement affirms its vital role in the global aviation landscape, reaching more international destinations than any other airline. We offer our congratulations to Turkish Airlines on this extraordinary accomplishment and declare them, with great distinction, Officially Amazing.”
