Under $100 / North America

Baltimore, Maryland, is a popular tourist destination for its rich history and low-cost attractions. Spending time in this dynamic city can easily be done for less than $100.

For a cheap stay, consider booking a room at the HI Baltimore Hostel. For as cheap as $29 a night, this hostel includes a free continental breakfast in a large shared kitchen, so you don’t have to spend money eating out. Your stay for the night also includes free WiFi, a game room and nightly events to help you make friends and explore the city.

Baltimore has plenty of attractions to attend that are less than $10. The Howard Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens is a destination worth a visit. Admission is a donation so you pay as you wish to see the orchid room and plants from a variety of climates. For $6, view the city from above at the Top of the World Observation Deck. The interesting American Visionary Art Museum is only $10 per person, but the Baltimore Museum of Art has a free admission.

Food is a must while in Baltimore. Known for its crabs, fresh seafood is around every corner. A little hidden gem, though, is Chaps Pit Beef. This restaurant serves up beef sandwiches piled high on fresh rolls with grated horseradish and raw onions. This sandwich is only $7.75 and can be served with a side of homemade baked beans and coleslaw.

For dessert, try the Charmery. This ice cream parlor has interesting flavors like mango lime hot sauce, earl grey gingersnap and Old Bay caramel. This fun creamery also has vegan and gluten-free options to choose from.

Going the Distance: Which Airports Have the Longest Walks?

You’re in between flights and ready to find a coffee and your next gate and settle in. But then you find the signs to your gate and look down the impossibly long corridor and wonder how you managed to have the gate at the opposite end of the airport.

United Continues Its Global Expansion

United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal.
