Destinations / North America

Start your day in Jackson with breakfast at The Bunnery Bakery and Restaurant. If you’re staying in Jackson’s downtown, you’ll easily be able to walk to this eatery where the specialties include baked goods. If you’re visiting during the summer months, eat while sitting on the deck.

Once you’re fueled up for a day of exploration, head to Grand Teton National Park. You can spend an entire day here, exploring, hiking and just driving the loop around the park. In fact, maybe drive the loop before you start more in-depth explorations. The loop gives you a quick look at everything the park offers over the course of an hour or so. Then, once you get your lay of the land, you can pick the best hiking spot for you.

For lunch, stop in to Grand Teton National Park’s visitor center at Jenny Lake. While the options may be sparse, you’ll get the sustenance you need to head out onto the crystalline Jenny Lake. If you don’t feel like taking to the water, you can walk the hiking trails around the lake to get beautiful views and the occasional spot to stick your toes in without actually renting a boat.

After a day spent in the great outdoors, head back to your Jackson Hole hotel to refresh and then hit the downtown area for dinner. Jackson Drug provides you with a diner-style atmosphere and amazing burgers and milkshakes at an affordable price. Great cocktails are also on the menu.

Then, walk to Snake River Brewing to try some of the local beers in a fun, lively atmosphere. The spacious brewery offers outdoor areas for bonfires, corn hole and just relaxing with friends while you sip some of the notable Wyoming beers.

How to Eat Like a Local with OodyMate

Truly immersing yourself in a foreign culture is one of the main reasons to travel, whether you’re learning a local dance or sipping wine with a vineyard owner in Italy. Traveling outside your comfort zone also involves sampling local cuisine, but if you’re visiting a major city like Rome or Paris, eating like a local usually means stepping far out of the city center, where eateries tend to cater to unadventurous tourists. But finding a worthy eatery can hog hours of your trip time as you pore over listings on TripAdvisor or Yelp.
