UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Austria

Located in central Europe, Austria is brimming with historical and cultural attractions. The country is currently home to 10 UNESCO World Heritage sites. On your next visit, add these spots to your list.

 

Cultural

  • Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg: Salzburg preserved its city structure from the Middle Ages. The city is known for its important contributions to art and culture, including as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
  • Historic Centre of Vienna: The capital of Austria, Vienna is known for its Baroque architecture, parks and gardens. To this day, the city is considered an important center for music.
  • Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn: This site served as the residence of the Habsburg emperors from the 18th century until 1918. It offers examples of decorative art. It was also the site of the world’s first zoo in 1752.
  • Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps: There are 111 individual sites that make up the larger prehistoric settlements in and around the Alps on the edges of lakes, rivers and wetlands.

Les Roches and Silversea signed an agreement to launch a groundbreaking field of study. The first-of-its-kind, innovative program, at the Les Roches campus in Marbella, Spain, will offer the knowledge and skills to manage and oversee various onboard areas of cruise vessels, as well as marketing, revenue management and other commercial functions. Students benefit from a scholarship agreement between both entities and the opportunity for employment with Silversea.

In Bavaria? Take a Ride on the Tegelberg Cable Car and Summer Luge
