When planning your spring travel, look no further than Vacasa’s 2022 spring travel trends report. The vacation rental management platform teamed with Allison + Partners to conduct the survey, analyzing the top trends and destinations for spring travel.

More than half (56 percent) of those surveyed plan to take a trip this spring, with 37 percent planning to travel during spring break. Of the respondents who plan to travel this spring, 75 percent plan to travel more in 2022 than they did in 2021. Twenty-three percent plan to travel with friends, up from 16 percent in 2021.
Domestic travel is still most popular, with 75 percent planning domestic spring vacations, 23 percent planning staycations and 18 percent traveling internationally. Vacasa’s most-searched destinations for spring break travel are Destin, Florida; Breckenridge, Colorado; Gulf Shores, Alabama; Key West, Florida; Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; and Park City, Utah.

In general, travelers are ready to hit the road. Forty-three percent cited a change of scenery as their main reason for taking a vacation. Travelers look to vacation rentals as their accommodation, with 30 percent planning to book. Of those, 65 percent cited value for money as the main reason for booking a vacation rental.
