Viking is setting a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous passenger cruise. Last month, guests on Viking Sun embarked on the new Ultimate World Cruise itinerary, which stops at 111 ports across 51 countries and six continents over 245 days. The cruise lasts through May 2020. When Viking Sun returns to London next year, a Guinness World Record adjudicator will confirm if the world record was set.

“For more than 20 years we have been committed to connecting travelers to culturally immersive experiences that allow them to explore the world in comfort,” said Torstein Hagen, chairman, Viking. “Our Ultimate World Cruise is the most extensive itinerary available in the industry, nearly double the length of our previous world cruise itineraries. I am pleased to offer such a unique experience for our guests.”

The Ultimate World Cruise takes guests through Scandinavia, the Caribbean, South America, the South Pacific, Australia, Asia, the Mediterranean and Europe. Highlights include trips to iconic sites throughout London; an overnight stay in Rio de Janeiro; a visit to a city on the southernmost tip of South America, Ushuaia, commonly referred to as the “End of the World;” explorations in the capitol of Tasmania, Hobart; tours through Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; unique experiences in Mumbai; and visits to temples and tombs in Luxor, Egypt.

While aboard the eight-month journey, Viking guests enjoy amenities such as unlimited WiFi, excursions in each port of call, business-class airfare, included gratuities and service fees and more.
