Autumn in Pismo Beach, California, means one massively adorable thing: Corgi Nation Vacation. This event sees hundreds of corgis take over California’s Central Coast, Sept. 11–13. Whether a corgi owner yourself or a lover of the short-legged dogs, you won’t want to miss this unique and hilarious festival.

Free and open to everyone, the Pismo Beach Corgi Fest (Sept. 12) is the main event of the weekend, running 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and located just south of the pier. Expect to see hundreds of corgis gather for costume contests, races, live music, a vendor village, photo opportunities and a custom sand art corgi installation.

Want to get even more access to the festival? Snag a V.I.P. ticket and enjoy access to three oceanfront events across the weekend, as well as a tote bag filled with goodies. V.I.P. events include a Welcome Tiki Luau Pawty at Dolphin Bay, where corgis receive flower leis, Corg d’oeuvres and Barktails for the pups, appetizers and a themed cocktails for human guests, live DJ, best dressed corgi contest, souvenir photo, and giveaways.

On Sept. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seacrest Oceanfront Hotel, V.I.P. ticket holders can enjoy a wine tasting of local Pismo winery pours, gourmet pizzas, music, and treats and drinks for the corgis. A farewell brunch at Vespera Resort the following day closes the weekend and festival, complete with special snacks for corgis and seaside views.
