What to Bring to a Tailgate

Tailgating season is here, a time to get together with friends to enjoy some fun before the big game. Don’t forget to bring the following the next time you want to have a parking lot party.

Cooler

This may be the most obvious, but you would be surprised at how many times people actually forget these. A cooler filled with ice is essential for keeping beverages cold but also to keep any meat for grilling from sitting out in the sun collecting bacteria that could ruin the whole day.

Weather Gear

Depending on where you are and the day, you may need to bring items to protect you from the weather. On sunny days, bring sunscreen and maybe a canopy if you want some shade. On colder days, pack extra layers of clothing and blankets just in case it gets too cold. It is better to have more to put on than not enough. Pocket hand warmers are also a good way to combat the cold and can be tucked into your hat, pockets and shoes.

Food and Grill

Yummy snacks to munch on are a staple. Keep everyone full and happy by bringing the basics, like hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and steak. Food will also keep some of your party from getting too out of hand with the boozy drinks. Of course, you have to bring a grill to chef up all of these wonderful foods.

Games

Tailgating is made better with games. Bring corn hole, a football, Kan Jam or a large pack of red solo cups for the classic game of flip cup. Games help kill the time before the game in a fun way.
