Coastal Mississippi offers more than 60 miles of shoreline, but don’t think every trip to this destination needs to be all about the beach. Here’s what to do if you’re all beached out and planning a fall trip to Coastal Mississippi.
Grab your paddle and canoe or kayak through the bayou. You have 13 miles to explore as you traverse a landscape covered in longleaf pine savannas and a wildlife refuge. The Blueway ends at Biloxi Bay.
Speaking of Biloxi, get a taste of the area’s maritime history with a visit to Biloxi Lighthouse. Climb to the top to snap some photos or just take some from the bottom — it’s one of the area’s most photographed spots.
If you’d like to get out on the water without any paddling, take a tiki tour with Cruisin Tikis. (Yes, it’s still warm enough for a cruise along the shore, even in September, with high temps in the upper 80s). Choose from morning, sunset cruises or longer afternoon cruises. All are BYOB and the boat looks just like a floating tiki bar.
