Sublimotion has been touted as the world’s first gastronomic experience. Originally created by a Michelin-starred chef, this dining experience is an exclusive, 12-person-only affair, featuring a multicourse meal highlighting molecular gastronomy while also bringing in complementary high-tech, artistic features. It all comes at a price, though, with meals working out to about $2,000 per person.
Sublimotion recently opened up for the 2025 summer season at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, and plans to fully lean into its “metagastronomy” approach. Expect an experience that’s part culinary, part performance art, with sounds, visuals, special effects, plating and more all coming together through use of tech like virtual reality headsets.
“Once again this year, in the gastronomic element, we wanted to highlight the essence of the raw material, an avant-garde cuisine with dishes based on the product [and] the technique, and perfectly harmonized with each of the scenes that make up the experience,” said creator Chef Paco Roncero.
No plans to head to Ibiza soon? Sublimotion is coming to Las Vegas in the near future, marking the 12-year-long endeavor’s first foray into the North American market, following similar Sublimotion experiences launching in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.
