Dining/Entertainment

This year, Mexican Caribbean Tourism launches the first-ever Mexican Caribbean Music Festival. The one-day festival takes place May 17, and will welcome a variety of artists to Tulum’s ZAMNA venue. This year’s headliner will be Sting. The best part? The festival is totally free and family-friendly, although you do need to reserve tickets in advance.

“This event represents a new era for the Mexican Caribbean. In addition to offering world-class music, we also seek to contribute to the growth and promotion of tourism in the region. Through the Mexican Caribbean Music Festival, we boost hotel occupancy and position the Riviera Maya as a key cultural and tourist destination for national and international travelers,” said Andrés Martínez, CEO, Mexican Caribbean Tourism.

The event will also include local artists and food and drinks. The hope is the festival can expand on the prior success of jazz festivals that have brought thousands of visitors into the region in years past. The event’s date also aligns nicely with hotel expansions in the Mexican Caribbean. Quite a few new resorts and hotels are opening across the country this year, including the first all-inclusive Kimpton property, Kimpton Tres Rios, and the all-inclusive, all-villa property TROBBU Tulum.
