What to Expect on Royal Caribbean’s New “Star of the Seas”

This month, Royal Caribbean’s latest cruise ship will launch out of Port Canaveral. The brand-new Star of the Seas joins Icon class as one of the largest and most groundbreaking cruise ships in the world. So, what can you expect if you book this ship for an upcoming vacation?

The ship continues Icon class’s trend of massive waterparks. Category 6 is the largest waterpark at sea, with six waterslides. The three-deck Chill Island zone offers four pools, including the largest pool at sea, and a swim-up bar. The ship also features family-friendly Surfside and AquaDome neighborhoods that can be found on Icon of the Seas. It additionally shares a one-of-a-kind feature with Icon: a suspended infinity pool.

Exclusive-to-Star of the Seas features, however, include a new dining option, Lincoln Park Supper Club; new food options in AquaDome Market; and new entertainment in the theater and AquaTheater.

“Star and the Icon class are a symbol of what’s possible when innovation, imagination and our relentless focus on delivering exceptional experiences come together, ultimately creating unforgettable memories for millions of families and vacationers,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group, when the ship was handed over to Royal Caribbean in July.
