Some new changes are in the works for Hilton’s loyalty program, Hilton Honors. Although Hilton has yet to officially confirm these additions and updates, the international hotel chain has hinted at some major upgrades.
The biggest addition? A brand-new, ultra-exclusive tier called Diamond Reserve. This new status level in the program will be the highest status members can achieve, with a required $18,000 in eligible spending required, as well as either 80 nights or 40 stays per calendar year.
Diamond Reserve status also awards members 22 points per dollar spent on eligible Hilton stays, as well as the choice of a confirmable upgrade reward or 30,000 points (on top of the existing 10,000-point bonuses every 10 nights).
Many travelers will also be happy to learn Hilton Honors will likely decrease its requirements across its Silver, Gold and Diamond statuses. For instance, currently, to achieve Hilton Silver status, members must stay 10 nights or four stays or use 25,000 base points. The number of nights, stays or base points to achieve Silver status would decrease.
Hilton Honors may also add another tier called The Honors Society, an invitation-only tier. Although yet to be confirmed, this tier will likely be reserved for hotel owners and Hilton’s most high-spending and high-profile guests.
