What You Should/Shouldn’t Buy at the Airport

Tips / Travel

It can be tempting to start spending money at the airport before you even begin your trip. Sure, there are times when you forget something you need for the plane. But given the prices and quality of items, there are certain things you should/shouldn’t buy at the airport.

Buy:
Alcohol
Especially if you’re traveling to an expensive destination, stock up on some alcohol at duty free. It could cost up to double the price once you arrive to your final destination so this could save you money in the long run.

Local Snacks
Before you board the plane to come home, stock up on some unique local snacks. Whether it’s a treat typical to that destination or simply a fun candy or chip flavor, bring some home for yourself and for souvenirs.

Don’t Buy:
Bottled Water
If possible, avoid purchasing bottled water once you pass through security. Prices are marked up a lot and not worth the money unless you’re desperate. Aim to bring an empty, reusable bottle you can fill at a water station once you pass through security or wait until you get on the plane.

Technology
Avoid purchasing airport WiFi or any electronic devices. Airport WiFi can be slow and overpriced. Products like headphones, chargers and cables are often much more expensive than you’d see outside the airport. Unless it’s a true emergency situation, wait until you’ve left the airport.

What to Do During a Trip to Morro Bay, California

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
