Dusseldorf is a wealthy city with lots of great restaurants, and it’s also known for its sizeable Japanese community.
Nagaya is one of the best Japanese places in the city, combining traditional cooking with haute cuisine styling. It’s a real experience, and it’s not for nothing the restaurant has won multiple awards.
Victorian is another gourmet spot, this time leaning on German culinary traditions. The menu changes every day, and lunch is the best time to book a table.
Brauerei Ferdinand Schumacher is the oldest brewery in the city (it’s been making beer for 175 years) and it also does great food. Think typical German fare, such as soups, goulash and fish caught from the nearby Rhine.
Dorfstube is another traditional German spot with a timber interior, and it feels a bit like a village pub. However the menu is full of flair, putting a twist on classic cooking and elevating the restaurant far beyond what you might expect.
Uerige is another brewery, known for making some of the best regional beer in Germany. There are also lots of sausages and other dishes available so you can soak up some of the alcohol.
