Destinations / North America

Snowy roads don’t have to keep you stuck home this winter. If you’re revving to get out of the house this season, here’s where to head on a winter road trip, as recommended by THOR Industries ambassadors Melissa and Lucas Lahr.

Fredericksburg, Texas

In Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg awaits with its German heritage, holiday events and small-town charm with plenty of local storefronts for all your gift shopping. All the while, you’ll enjoy mild weather. December temperatures hover around the 60s for the daily highs.

Orlando, Florida

For something a little warmer — but not by too much, with daily December highs in the 70s — try Orlando. Hurricane season passed, you’ll also have the option of checking out all the holiday fun going on at the destination’s various theme parks.

Sedona, Arizona

For something further west, try Sedona, Arizona, where December temperatures stay in the 50s. It’s the perfect weather for exploring the area’s abundance of outdoor fun without breaking a sweat (unless, of course, you try out one of the particularly strenuous hikes). Prefer to leave your hiking boots at home? Go for scenic drives, like the Oak Creek Canyon scenic drive.
