Book a weekend in Kosice and you’ll discover a historic city that retains its old-world charm. Here are some of the best accommodation options in town.
For a cheap bed, head to Hostel Happy Bull. Situated in the center of town, it’s a great location for exploring and only a 10-minute walk from the train and bus station. MEI Hostel is another good budget place, where you can get a double room for around €30, as is K2 Hostel, particularly popular among younger travelers.
When it comes to mid-range accommodation, try Hotel Gloria Palace. If you prefer a bed and breakfast, check out Penzión Slovakia. It’s right next to an Argentine steakhouse, too, so you won’t have to go far to get some dinner.
Those with some spare cash should try the 4-star Hotel Zlaty Dukat Kosice in the center of town, or the Hotel Bankoc Kosice. Founded in 1869, the latter is the oldest hotel in town and is found slightly outside town in a beautiful garden location. Another reliable option is the Doubletree by Hilton Kosice on the edge of the historic center, offering modern amenities without much local character.
