Ever think about how difficult it is to navigate an airport with a suitcase and backpack in tow? When you have to roll your carry-on into the bathroom or wait ages in line for food, think about travelers requiring accessible facilities, for whom those experiences become even more stressful and tiring.
Fortunately, some airports go above and beyond when it comes to accessibility. This year’s top 10 airports for accessibility are:
- Singapore Changi Airport
This airport receives top marks for its clearly marked zones, private rest spaces and attentive assistance.
- Zürich Airport
Fast-track mobility services, multilingual signage and barrier-free layouts make this the most accessible airport in Europe.
- Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
Travelers will find dedicated “assistance point” kiosks, as well as quiet lounges for those with sensory-related problems.
- Manchester Airport
Recent updates at this U.K. airport see better assistance in tech and staff training.
- Incheon International Airport
This airport boasts internal transport and well-marked accessible toilets.
- Vancouver International Airport
This airport proudly features Braille signage, alert systems and wide walkways.
- Edinburgh Airport
Travelers can expect short walking distances and friendly staff ready to assist.
- Munich International Airport
Comfortable waiting areas and responsible ground staff put this airport in the top 10.
- Dubai International Airport
This airport receives top marks thanks to its 24/7 assistance teams and accessible prayer rooms.
- Bristol Airport
This airport’s smaller size means it’s easier to navigate, and strong user feedback puts this airport high on the list for accessibility.
What about the least accessible airports in 2025? Travelers requiring accessible facilities should avoid Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Rome, Italy; Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France; John. F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, New York; London Heathrow International Airport in London, United Kingdom; and Los Angeles International Airport in California.
These rankings were compiled by Halton Stairlifts, where the team analyzed more than 50,000 passenger reviews across Google and TripAdvisor. The study focused on real passenger experiences with airport mobility services, navigability, staff support and general comfort for travelers with disabilities or reduced mobility.
