Winter Beers From Around the Country

When the temperature begins to drop for winter, you know it is time to really dig in to the dark beers.

Stouts and porters are good all year-round, but really feel much more appropriate in the cold winter months. In addition to the stouts, porters and other beers around year-round, these are some great seasonal beers for the winter months.

Popular beer rating and review site Beer Advocate compiled a list of the best warming winter beers, along with many other specific lists.

The No. 1 beer on Beer Advocate’s ranking is the Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb. This beer, brewed by Fremont Brewing Company in Washington, is aged in bourbon barrels.

Next up is Wintervention, from Peticolas Brewing Company. This winter beer is brewed in Texas and comes in at 4.2 on the Beer Advocate rating scale. It is a strongly spiced winter ale that will surely quench the thirst of any beer lover this winter.

Three is the Barrel-Aged Christmas Ale from Great Lakes Brewing Company, brewed in Ohio with Christmas spices and honey. This is a favorite I used to drink each year, and can personally vouch for its quality.
