Last week, Palm Beach, Florida, welcomed the world’s largest Hermès Birkin Bag, “BIG BIRK,” presented by Denis Leon Gallery as part of Art Palm Beach. The massive, 19-foot-tall bag sat outside Palm Beach County Convention Center in its first-ever public exhibition at a major art show anywhere in the world.
In fact, the bag was so big, efforts to transport it to the exhibition stopped traffic. The 1,000-pound, canary yellow piece was escorted by police to the convention center, where it stood Jan. 22–26.

“The Birkin bag, a global symbol of prestige, and timeless elegance, perfectly aligns with the interests and aesthetic of this extraordinary community,” said Kassandra Voyagis, director and producer, Art Palm Beach. “This exhibition offers an exciting dialogue between art and affluence, capturing the spirit of a place where high fashion and high culture intersect seamlessly.”
Crafted by designer and architect GEO, it’s estimated this piece cost at least $100,000 to make, using wood, condensed Styrofoam, mirror acrylic and aluminum to meticulously replicate the finest details of its real-world counterpart.
