Yäan Wellness Spa has a reputation as one of the most relaxing spas in Mexico. Visiting Tulum without a stop here is almost blasphemous. Having spent a day here, I can confidently say it lives up to its reputation.
The spa’s atmosphere is designed with nature in mind, with the elements of fire, water, wood and air interspersed throughout the décor and feel. Immediately upon arrival, the staff’s friendly and calm demeanor stood out. The buildings themselves are absolutely stunning, both somehow rustic and modern at once.
Though Yäan Wellness Spa offers a variety of spa treatments that most of us have come to expect, they also include some incredible yoga classes and traditional Mayan rituals in their programs, too. The monthly Open Moon Temazcal Ceremony is a purification and healing ritual that offers a pre-Hispanic sweat lodge treatment I would highly recommend.
As a fan of water baths, I was thoroughly impressed with the healing water pools and floral baths, along with the deep muscle massages and relaxation meditations.
My friends and I left Yäan Wellness Spa feeling rejuvenated and refreshed after spending two weeks on the road. It’s an experience I will definitely repeat the next time I’m in Tulum. The only regret is we couldn’t stay for more than one day.
