New York State transforms into a winter wonderland with magical experiences for travelers of all ages.
Book a stay in a new or reimagined property. Pocketbook Hudson debuted last month in a restored 1880s textile mill turned factory campus with 46 guestrooms and suites, an all-day café, and a retail space. AC Hotel Saratoga Springs opened this month in downtown Saratoga, steps away from popular shops, restaurants and attractions. Eastwind Hotel – Windham, in the Catskills, expands, introducing 12 new design-forward guestrooms.
Ski upgrades are in the works throughout the state with new and improved offerings at Gore Mountain, Whiteface Mountain, Belleayre Mountain and Hunter Mountain.
Experience a host of exciting events this winter. Catskills Pride Ski Weekend returns for its third year, Jan. 31–Feb. 1, at Belleayre Mountain. While the 2026 Olympic Winter Games take place in Italy, two-time host city Lake Placid hosts its own month-long celebration in February, with special events and viewings. Attend the Fire & Ice Winter Festival in the Finger Lakes region Feb. 22–23. The ninth annual event features ice-carving competitions, culinary experiences and other family-friendly entertainment.
“Winter in New York State is where excitement meets relaxation. Every region offers something extraordinary, from world-class ski destinations and luxurious new hotels to charming small towns and unique seasonal events that warm the soul. From cozy spa experiences to snowy adventures, New York in winter is the perfect time for travelers to connect and enjoy everything they love, and it’s only available in a New York winter,” said Ross D. Levi, executive director of tourism, I LOVE NY.
