It’s time to start dreaming of your next trip. Here are five must-see sites in Córdoba, Argentina.
Established in 1577, Plaza San Martín is a historic and green space centered around the bronze monument of José de San Martín, a pivotal figure in Argentina’s independence from Spain. Around the plaza are buildings dating back to the Spanish colonial period, including the Cathedral of Córdoba, the oldest church in continuous service in the country, built in 1582. © Diego Grandi | Dreamstime.com

The Plaza del Bicentenario was erected to honor the 200th anniversary of the May Revolution, when Argentina successfully removed the Spanish Viceroy and established its first independent local government. La Cañada, the partial channeling of the stream of the same name, crosses the city, with many stone bridges and trees lining the channel. Just south of the city is Alta Gracia, a destination most notable for its Jesuit history. Today, Alta Gracia draws locals and visitors thanks to landmarks and experiences like a museum dedicated to revolutionary Che Guevara, the museum of Santiago de Liniers, and various premier golf courses set against mountain backdrops. © Nelieta | Dreamstime.com
