Looking for a restaurant in Chicago that can fulfill your carnivorous needs? Try one of these five favorites for a steak you’ll be dreaming about for nights to come.

Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf

This speakeasy-style restaurant transports you back in time, with the classy atmosphere, well-dressed servers and extra-special menu. Choose from six different steaks, with the most extravagant the bone-in filet mignon, 16 ounces, with bernaise and steak salt (though be warned, it’s limited in availability).

The Chicago Chop House

Dine in the historic Victorian brownstone, where a large number of recognizable (and sometimes notorious) faces have graced the doorway; you’ll find their photos in the more than 1,400 frames lining the walls. If you can take your attention off the atmosphere, you’ll find a superb selection of dry-aged steaks, not limited to Mishima, a revered Japanese breed.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse

A favorite steakhouse, you never know who you’ll see at this much-acclaimed eatery. Keep your eyes on the steak, though, and you’ll find an amazing array of options, including the bone-in prime rib, which The Chicago Tribune called “the holy grail.”

Primehouse

Located in the James Hotel, this steakhouse dry-ages its meats in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room. Called one of the best steak restaurants in the city, it serves up steaks classified by age, from the 30-day porterhouse to the 75-day ribeye. Done with dinner? Ask for a quick peek of the aging room.

RPM Steak

This sleek and sexy steakhouse in River North elevates the classic steak experience, serving it up to eagerly awaiting guests in the sunken dining room. The priciest steak on the menu is the 42-ounce Mishima Tomahawk, at $195, sourced from meticulously cared-for cattle on a reserve in Washington.
