Tired of the complimentary cookies, coffee and soda you’ll find on most flights? Wish there was an effective way to get your caffeine fix during a flight that doesn’t include balancing a cup of jostling hot coffee over your lap during turbulence? If you’re on a WestJet flight in the near future, you might just be in luck.
WestJet now offers complimentary caffeinated chocolate on select flights, courtesy of AWAKE Chocolate.

If you’re not familiar with AWAKE Chocolate, this brand offers fair-trade, non-GMO chocolate bars. Each bar comes sectioned into multiple pieces. Eat one piece for the caffeine equivalent of a half a cup of coffee. Eat the whole bar for the caffeine equivalent of an entire cup of coffee — and for a portion of the calories and price of a blended coffee-shop coffee. Don’t need the buzz of an entire cup of coffee? Individually wrapped single pieces of chocolate are also available.
“AWAKE Chocolate is for those who believe chocolate should taste delicious, satisfy a craving and offer that little something extra to help get through the day,” said Matt Schnarr, co-founder, AWAKE Chocolate.
AWAKE flavors include caramel chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, peanut butter chocolate, mint dark chocolate, almond dark chocolate and peanut butter dark chocolate.
