Horses, bourbon and … bluegrass. They’re what Lexington, Kentucky, is best known for. But now, for the first time, Lexington invites visitors and locals to quite literally “touch grass” with its new Bluegrass Bathing program. The program is an extension of the “grounding” wellness trend which, according to recent medical reports, can help improve sleep, lower stress levels and reduce inflammation.

The program partners with local horse farms through Visit Horse Country and some of Lexington’s scenic parks (including Gatton Park and Kentucky Horse Park), letting people embrace the popular wellness trend amidst the country’s most exceptional grass.
How can you “Bluegrass bathe” in Lexington? When booking at participating locations, you’ll receive access to a series of curated wellness experiences, including Pilates and sound baths, as well as a selection of guided meditations designed specifically for the program. You can also further deepen your connection to the Bluegrass by booking a dedicated tour of your host farm after the bathing experience.

Each guided meditation draws inspiration from the natural elements shaping Lexington’s landscape, encouraging participates to engage their senses, slow down and connect with the surroundings.
You’ll also find a guided sound bath video on VisitLEX’s official website set amidst a local horse farm and led by Amy Hudson, a certified Reiki master and sound healer from Sound Healing Center of Lexington.
