After several failed attempts with Airbnb , I was skeptical to book one for a bachelorette party weekend in Boston. With the NCAA’s March Madness Tournament hosted in Boston over our weekend away, VRBO, Flip Key and HomeAway accommodations filled up quickly and I was lucky to find a house that slept 12 on Airbnb — so I went for it.
Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the house and it was as described and the interior was actually more spacious than expected. We stayed in the Brookline area with easy access to Mission Hill bars and restaurants while only being a 15–20-minute Lyft ride away from downtown and Seaport.
During our stay, the host contacted me about three times, once to say welcome, again to remind us to check the PDF itinerary she put together for us if we needed any suggestions on what to see and do during our stay and one last time to remind us how to check out and leave a review on Airbnb.
Our host also popped over once to leave a sign for us to place in the bathroom, but her genuine care and attention she put into our stay was refreshing — especially considering my previous experiences.
All in all, the stay was easy, a great location and a fun time for the weekend. The check-out was so easy, which I know will vary by Airbnb host, but we were lucky and a little rejuvenated for the home-sharing service.
