American Express recently opened the doors to Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge, an entirely new airport lounge concept within The Centurion Lounge network, at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
“Since opening the first Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas in 2013, we have gained invaluable insights around how Card Members use our lounge spaces, which has informed how we innovate,” said Audrey Hendley, president, American Express Travel. “Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge was born out of the fact that a significant portion of Centurion Lounge visitors stay for an hour or less. This is not only an exciting return to LAS, but a new approach we created for those travelers looking for an upscale and efficient respite – even when they have a short window before boarding their flight.”
Created for solo and small groups of travelers, the space is a small, speakeasy-inspired lounge for eligible card members looking for a quick stop to sit and order elevated food and drinks from a menu curated by Resy Chefs from The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge.
This opening marks the 32nd location in the Centurion Lounge Network across the globe and represents American Express’ first expansion of the Centurion Lounge experience into a more intimate format. The lounge is located near gate D1 in Concourse D, open 8 a.m.–10 p.m.
Designed for travelers looking for a quicker lounge visit without sacrificing quality, those visiting Sidecar will be seated at the bar or a table and they can place an order through QR code technology powered by Toast. Food and drinks will be delivered directly by a server. The menu will rotate regularly and feature small plates from The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge, including chefs like Sarah Grueneberg, Kwame Onwuachi, Michael Solomonov and Mashama Bailey. Bar director Harrison Ginsberg will craft the cocktail menu. Sommelier Helen Johannesen will curate the wine list, with her wine selections available in all Centurion Lounges across the United States this spring.
Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge’s design reflects the culture of Las Vegas with an “oasis-in-the-desert” concept featuring desert hues, mixed natural stones, lush foliage and pops of deep American Express blue. Nods to Vegas glamour include brass accents, antique mirrors and warm lighting.
