Anchorage, Alaska, has now welcomed its first lifestyle boutique property with the June opening of Wildbirch Hotel. The property is also the first new hotel opening in Anchorage in two decades.
“Watching this place come to life has been an honor,” said Haje Thurau, general manager, Wildbirch Hotel. “It’s very special to see our overnight guests immerse themselves in the Anchorage lifestyle, engage with locals and discover what makes our little corner of Alaska such a magical place.”

Wildbirch Hotel, a member of the Hyatt family of properties, offers more than 250 guestrooms on the Anchorage West Fourth Avenue corridor, situating it within easy reach of shopping, dining and historical attractions. On site, though, the hotel offers its own dining, and common spaces include an outdoor deck with views of Mount Susitna.
Crimson is the property’s signature restaurant, serving both upscale Alaskan cuisine and Pan-American Latin eats. Canteen Coffee Co. offers a walk-up window and light bites through the day. The Undertap is currently in development, but will soon open as a craft beer tasting room.

“It’s our great pleasure to introduce The Wildbirch Hotel to Anchorage,” said hotel co-owner Mark Begich, and previous Mayor of Anchorage from 2003 to 2009 and United States Senator from 2009 to 2015. “This property offers a unique, modern Alaska experience unlike anywhere else.”
