Casa Velas, on the Marina Vallarta golf course in Puerto Vallarta, recently announced its new Essence of Botanical Garden workshop, an immersive sensory experience that allows guests to explore personalized aromatherapy. The wellness offering teaches participants about the therapeutic power of botanicals in a hands-on setting.
The experience starts with an introduction to aromatherapy, a centuries-old practice that has profound effects on mood, wellness and health. Expert facilitators then lead a guided botanical garden tour to identify and sustainably harvest herbs, flowers and plants. Guests can pick fruits and herbs straight from the botanical garden, including rosemary, lavender, mint, basil, lemongrass, peppermint, epazote (Mexican tea), aloe vera, sage, nopales (cactus pads), thyme, tamarind, jackfruit, mango, guava and more. A crafting session illustrates techniques for extracting and blending essential oils to create signature scents for oils, room sprays and other applications. Guests leave with their own custom creation.
Guests have the option to book an elevated package combining the workshop with the 4-Handed Herbal Ritual at on-site Abja Spa. The 50-minute massage treatment features aromatic herbal compresses filled with orange peel, cloves, bay leaf, horsetail and other botanicals, applied using a signature healing spiral technique. Guests use their personally crafted aromas for a completely customized sensory experience.
The Essence of Botanical Garden workshop is priced at $400 for up to eight participants. The workshop and 4-Handed Herbal Ritual for two guests is $971.
