Catch This Empire State Building-Ghirardelli Pop-up Before It’s Gone

You still have a chance to catch a special, limited-time Ghirardelli pop-up at the Empire State Building. If you’ve visited this landmark in the past, you may’ve noticed a Ghirardelli Chocolate Company shop on the building’s first floor — but the brand is taking things to new heights in honor of the Empire State Building’s 95^th anniversary.

Every day, 10 a.m.–9 p.m., through May 10, guests visiting the 86^th Floor Observation Deck will be able to enjoy an exclusive, celebratory Ghirardelli treat: the Kong Sundae. The decadent dessert includes vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, diced almonds, a cherry and a chocolate King Kong. In addition to the $18 sundae, guests at the observation deck can also order a hot cocoa for $11. Just look for the Ghirardelli cart overshadowed by a giant King Kong.

“We are pleased to celebrate the Empire State Building’s 95^th anniversary with our guests, and we cannot think of a better way than with an exclusive Ghirardelli sundae served ESB-style with a special appearance by Kong,” said Dan Rogoski, general manager, Empire State Observatory.

(Missed the pop-up? While the Kong Sundae was only available at the observation deck during the popup period, it’s coming to the ground-floor shop later in the season.)
