Graduate Hotels Coming to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 2027

Hilton’s Graduate Hotels brand is officially coming to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, home to University of Alabama. The hotel, slated to open in 2027, will transform former Hotel Capstone into Graduate by Hilton Tuscaloosa, delivering a uniquely themed hospitality experience for locals, students and guests.

It will also be the only hotel on the University of Alabama campus, next to Bryant Conference Center.

“Graduate by Hilton Tuscaloosa will enhance the way the University welcomes guests to campus and further extends the unrivaled Alabama experience,” said Peter J. Mohler, president, University of Alabama. “The hotel will serve as the front door for many campus guests and will create a welcoming environment while spotlighting UA’s unique culture and community.”

The planned conversion of the hotel will include dramatic changes to the building’s food outlets, updated meeting and event spaces, and designs nodding to Tuscaloosa’s history and athletic triumphs.

“We are very excited to move forward with rebranding the hotel to a Graduate by Hilton,” said Cory Jackson Jr., president, Jackson Hospitality Services, consultant for the new hotel. “As market conditions change over time, so must our hotel change, both physically and culturally. The planned conversion will represent a seismic shift in how the hotel presents itself to the public.”
