Disneyland welcomes nearly 16 million guests each year; even with all the rides, restaurants, shows and stores on offer, that’s a lot of people on any given day – and there is no such thing as a day when the park won’t be crowded, even if it’s raining. Thanks to modern technology and smartphones, there is a way to experience as much as possible while minimizing those dreaded wait times.
Enter: MouseWait.
Launched in 2009, MouseWait was a true labor of love by Disneyland enthusiast and SoCal local Kelly Johns and just two months after its launch, it was named the highest-rated Disneyland app in the history of Apple’s App Store.
MouseWait has since evolved into its own community with more than 100,000 registered users, an equal number of followers on its Twitter page and 14,000 likes on its Facebook page.
On it, users are able to access an array of useful information while at the park, including line wait times; times and locations for character appearances; which rides, restaurants and other park attractions are closed on any given day; and which rides are currently offering FastPasses.
MouseWait is available for free download on both the Apple and Android platforms. It has garnered more than 3,000 reviews on the Android PlayStore, resulting in a 4.4-star rating. OCWeekly and The Huffington Post are among the many press outlets to review it, naming it “one of the OC’s best apps” and “one of the three Disneyland musts you shouldn’t be without,” respectively.
