Newly opened Hyatt Regency Times Square, the official hotel partner of MAMMA MIA! on Broadway, launched The ‘MAMMA MIA!’ experience, an immersive stay for theater and film fans alike.

“We’re excited to partner with our Broadway neighbors and provide guests and World of Hyatt members with this unique stay experience,” said Mohit Malhotra, general manager, Hyatt Regency Times Square. “The room beautifully represents the iconic Broadway show while providing the comforts of staying at a Hyatt Regency.”

On the 44th floor, the musical-inspired themed room offers views of the Hudson River, with its décor inspired by the sets, colors and textures of the musical, boasting white stone-like walls, accent shutters, florals and a hand-painted ceiling reminiscent of the Greek sky. Guests can say, “Make me a dancing queen” and sequin-covered curtains set the tone, alongside custom lighting, curated playlists and interactive photo booth moments. The experience also includes a complimentary branded tote bag, honey candy, a beach towel and custom postcards. Guests who book The MAMMA MIA! Experience have access to premium-seat tickets to MAMMA MIA!, a variety of curated merchandise, 500 World of Hyatt points and access to an in-room Polaroid.

Krysta Rodriguez, founder, CURATED by Krysta Rodriguez, brought the design to life. Her performing career included starring roles in many Broadway productions like Smash, Spring Awakening and In the Heights.

“When I was asked to create a concept for this room, I knew it had to capture the two beloved elements of MAMMA MIA!: gorgeous Greek scenery and sparkling dance parties,” said Rodriguez. “We wanted to create an immediate impact, swathing the walls in plaster, stone, and unmistakable Greek details, and then we brought in the iconic music and costumes to complete the experience. This playful pairing creates the perfect escape for musical lovers, movie fans, travelers, and dancing queens alike.”

The Deluxe King MAMMA MIA! room is available for booking, with rates starting at $599.

No, It’s Not France: This Country Has a Lavender Festival

Provence, France, might be the travel destination most popularly associated with lavender, but don’t overlook Tihany, Hungary. There, on the shores of Lake Balaton (the largest lake in Central Europe), lavender grows thanks to the plant’s introduction by Benedictine monks in the 11th century, as well as cultivation efforts throughout the 1900s. Now, you can experience the results for yourself during Tihany Lavender Festival, June 15–30.

This summer, art, nature and culture lovers may think only big cities like New York City and Chicago have all of the museums and sites worthy of a trip, but there’s actually a destination  much cheaper and just as rich in experiences. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, not only boasts a beautiful coastline to cool off, but it is also home to the nation’s largest and most comprehensive collection of American figurative sculpture: Brookgreen Gardens.
