Iberostar Waves Miami Beach recently debuted a new immersive mural project with award-winning Spanish artist René Mäkelä: Feel the Waves. The installation features a series of immersive murals by Mäkelä, recently recognized as Wynwood’s Artist of the Year.

Murals transform the property into a living art gallery with a visual narrative celebrating Miami’s vibrant culture. Mäkelä is a fixture in the local art community, with his murals and installations on display throughout the city.

Murals showcase aspects of the city. Feel the Vibe boasts bold, graffiti-style lettering and colors. Feel the Taste and Feel the Flow draw inspiration from native marine creatures, depicting sea turtles and dolphins. Feel the Nature & Feel the Freedom features two flamingoes in a vertical composition, surrounded by graffiti-style botanicals. Feel the Sun offers Mäkelä’s interpretation of a Miami Beach lifeguard tower.
In a commitment to sustainability, Mäkelä used eco-friendly, water-based paints on these murals.
