Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton recently completed its comprehensive lobby renovation, led by Robinson Park Design & Build.
The design drew its inspiration from the hotel’s original mosaic floor tile, using its colorful motifs to create a palette of green quartz, plum and more. Historic references can be found through diamond-shaped patterns inspired by the goddess Diana emblem, reinterpreted in a custom metallic wall covering; and a curated collection of historic hotel memorabilia displayed throughout the space.
“This renovation was about listening to the building and letting its history guide the design forward,” said Hana Waugh, president, Robinson Park Design & Build. “Our team approached the lobby with a lot of respect for what already existed, making thoughtful decisions that balance heritage with how guests experience the space today.”
Darker finishes were replaced with cream tones, while select chandeliers were removed in favor of cove lighting and reflective gold leaf wall coverings, for a brighter lobby atmosphere. Green wallcovering guides guests toward the elevator bay and each furniture piece was chosen in response to the daily rhythms of the hotel.
A seamless entrance to the new, elevated Carnegie Diner & Cafe sits steps from the front desk. The addition of the iconic establishment is the first in the hotel’s culinary and entertainment offerings, with new concepts slated to open throughout 2026, including a karaoke lounge, dessert food hall and arcade, and a Korean BBQ restaurant.
