Most Family-Friendly U.S. Airports Revealed

Traveling with kids in tow can be difficult, but if you’re flying through one of America’s most family-friendly airports, it can be a bit easier. A recent analysis from eSIM provider TripSim looked at more than 100 U.S. airports, comparing them based on factors such as family-friendly security lanes, nursing room access, dining options, play areas and more.

Accordingly, data showed the best airport for families in the country is Greater Rochester International Airport, which offers 64.92 dining options per million passengers, 3.37 nursing rooms per million passengers and 1.69 play areas per million passengers. It also ranked second for its family-friendly security lanes.

Other high-ranking airports from the study included those in Brownsville, Texas (BRO); Niagara Falls, New York (IAG); Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC); Newark, New Jersey (EWR); San Francisco, California (SFO); Memphis, Tennessee (MEM); Albany, New York (ALB); Seattle, Washington (SEA); and Orlando, Florida (SFB).

“What stood out in this study is how airports of all sizes can excel. You don’t need to be a major hub to support families well. Sometimes smaller airports have an advantage because everything is closer, calmer, and easier to navigate. That makes a huge difference when you’re traveling with kids who can get tired or overstimulated quickly,” commented TripSIM’s Arber Abdulllahu.
