San Diego’s historic Lafayette Hotel & Club soon transforms into a winter wonderland this holiday season. With an immersive, 1940s-inspired design, the hotel offers the perfect mix between fantasy and reality year-round, but, in winter, the hotel especially goes all out. The property dons its walls and spaces with floor-to-ceiling holiday decorations, seasonal programming and even a few surprises for guests throughout the season. Check out some highlights of what to expect this holiday season:

Holiday Tea Service

Enjoy a Holiday Tea Service in the hotel lobby Monday–Friday from 12 to 4 p.m. For an additional cost, guests can enjoy a festive spread of teas and small bites.

 

Christmas Carolers

Christmas carolers will serenade guests on the steps of the iconic, colonial-style entrance of the hotel.

Night Moves Santa

On weekends from 8 to 10 p.m., Night Moves Santa will hang around the lobby, meeting guests and granting wishes.

 

Lou Lou’s Jungle Room

Lou Lou’s Jungle Room will host two nights of John Waters’ famous Holiday Christmas show, known for its humor and cult following — adding a unique twist to the hotel’s holiday programming.

Holiday Platter at Beginner’s Diner

At Beginner’s Diner, order the traditional Holiday Platter, featuring slow-roasted turkey breast, braised turkey thigh, brown butter sage sweet potato pave, rye bread stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and a Parker House roll.

The Lobby Bar’s Seasonal Cocktails

Treat yourself to a nightcap at Lobby Bar. The bar has a seasonal cocktail menu with drinks including a Hot Toddy, made with whiskey, chai, yerba santa, allspice, apple, ginger and cardamom; Tiki, featuring aged rum, coconut, banana, orange, lime and Chinese Five Spice; and a lightly fruited old fashioned made with bourbon, cognac, creme de cacao and dry vermouth.
