See the World’s Largest LED Planetarium in Prague

Prague Planetarium now welcomes guests to experience the world’s largest LED planetarium in the world, as well as the first fully digital LED planetarium in Europe.

The attraction’s new LED dome features 45 million diodes and 12,000 custom-designed panels, and, when compared to traditional projectors, boasts 100 times the light output and four times the service life. The result is an extremely immersive, 3-D astronomy simulation experience.

Driven by the forward-thinking leaders at Prague Planetarium, this extensive modernization sets an international benchmark for what planetariums can deliver — one that will influence institutions around the world for years to come,” said Kirk Johnson, COO, Cosm Technology, the company whose technology powers the new LED dome.

The new planetarium required a $12.5 million investment, most necessary for the dome construction and LED technology, with the rest of the project’s budget going toward expanding and modernizing the planetarium’s overall visitor facilities.
