Packing for summer means lots of shorts, lightweight clothing and hopefully some sunscreen.

It is arguably easier to pack for the warmer months, but there are plenty of items that will improve your enjoyment of your trip. From sneaky space savers to luxuries, here is your guide to summer essentials.

Remember to take a day bag with you on your trip, or you’ll be left hauling your sunscreen, phone and book around in a plastic bag. A canvas tote works well for beach trips, while a small waterproof dry bag is better for campers.

Whether you are heading off for a spot of summer sun or taking a cultural trip, take a cotton throw with you. The Brazilians call it a kanga, and it almost certainly has a lot of other names around the world, but the simple throw can double as a towel, a scarf or even a jacket if you get cold in the evening.

On that note, it is also important to take a more formal outfit wherever you go. You might not be expecting to go anywhere with a dress code on your beach break, but it doesn’t hurt to take some chinos and a collared shirt or a smart dress.

When it comes to sun, it pays to invest in quality. Try to get hold of some sunscreen that both protects and hydrates. Even if you are not on the beach, apply some to your face to prevent skin damage. Banana Boat is known for its quality.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
